The meadow is close to the Willowford Roman bridge near the Roman Fort at Birdoswald. The River Irthing flows behind the trees at the far end of the meadow.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love buttercups. As kids we used to hold one underneath our chin and if we saw the yellow reflection then it meant we like butter!
