I spotted dozens of these small fish in the rock pools at Newquay but I still haven't managed to identify them. They're about 2 inches long and camera shy.
Good shot. I have tried to get pictures of fish before, but mine always hide too. There is a creek I visit that always has fish in warm weather, but they always hide or swim away.
