I'm having trouble identifying another two bugs. Do you recognise them?

The hoverfly looks similar to the picture of Syrphus ribesii in my book, but the markings are slightly different. The beetle looks similar to Pyrochroa serraticornis.

Any ideas? :-)

Pardon me, I have no idea the names of the bugs. At first look at the first bug, I thought it is a bee from the stripes. The second one gives me the creep.

I agree that the first one looks like a bee as well. The second could be some sort of beetle. Although I don't like bugs, these are great detailed photos of the creatures.

I usually have trouble identifying most animals so I won't be much help there. I do like the closeup look at them though.

The stripey insects I never know. The beetle could be a chafer, could it?

That fly is really something. It seems to be one that mimics a wasp. Love it!

The lower one looks like a stinkbug. LOL The top ones looks like some type of bee.

I am as bad with identifying insects as flowers.

Someone will come by and see it and identify it, though. I posted two weird birds on my blog and someone from Michigan Aububon Society stopped by and left a comment with the ID.

The top one is Joe, he's aged a bit but I'd know him anywhere. The bottom guy used to date Mary O'Shaughnessy but that wasn't today or yesterday I can tell you...

(Sorry, this is how we do ID in Ireland) :)
