More Spring Flowers: Primroses

Primrose, Primula vulgaris

I didn't have to go far to find these primroses, they were hiding away in a shady area of the garden. Now I just need to find some daffodils to complete my collection of Spring flowers :-)

I love that shot, even though it brakes one of the biggest photography rules. Rules are meant to be broken, indeed :)

Gosh!!! My primroses are just leaf tips that are barely visible above the soil at the moment. Are these in a particularly warm spot or perhaps near to the house for them to be so far forward and in flower?

They're so lovely, and heartwarming. Nice to see the Spring here!

Here in west Michigan, spring is slower in arriving. Only crocus blossoms can be seen. Tulips and daffodils are pushing up through the earth. The hyacinth has yet to make an appearance.

I've never seen these before. They are so lovely and soft looking.

Picture of flowers like this always refreshes me, and makes me wax poetic.

Oh, flower, my sweet smelling primroses,
How ineffable is your loveliness!
Your beauty a joy, an inspiration
In this puzzling world.

But you, primroses, my flower, are lucky,
As John was able to capture your beauty,
And immortalizes it in his wonderful blog,
For all the world to see.

I like those flowers all in a row. I'm waiting to be able to see things like this here now. It should all be coming soon.

I love the little primroses. Mine are all long dead. Thanks for sharing!

Paul, I'm curious which rules I've broken. Normally I just take what feels right.

Polly, they're close to a fence which shades them from the wind although it also blocks most of the light.

Eli, every so often you surprise me! Are there any other talents you're hiding? :-)
