I am a crazy person I guess. I love the humble and persistent Dandelion! Bright, cheerful, prolific and nutritious! We need to change our attitudes, make more Dandelion wine, eat more of the young leaves in salads, celebrate their cheery yellow countenances and cavort through a meadow blowing fluffy seed pods to watch them dance on the wind.
I'd like to see a lawn full of grass blades be nearly so diverse!
They certainly do spread with wild abandon. I've eaten the blossoms and the greens. But don't eat them in the summer, only in the spring. Otherwise they develop a bitter taste.
Oddly enough, in my horrible weed patch that we mow and call a lawn there are very few dandelions. But I'm going out today to a place where there are thousands and cut enough to make dandelion syrup for my waffles.

I've got a gallon of dandelion mead bubbling away right next to me. :) I love dent de leon!

I like dandelions. Most people here call them weeds, but they're my favorite flower.
I know I'm in the minority but I happen to think dandelions are beautiful. What's not to like, rich color, exotic look and very hearty. Great shots
