European Yew

yew berry

The berries of the yew tree are one of the strangest I've seen, having an opening at one end.

I loooove those berries. They are so pretty! Wasn't the yew a magical tree?

But what a beautiful shot of it! Looks like it's lit up for Christmas.

I love the berries of yew. I believe they are the only part of the yew that is edible, and very sweet. As the rest of the tree is so poisonous I haven't tested them. :)

It is certainly different but beautiful all the same. Evidently the spiders like it too. Great detailed shot.

Very interesting. How big is this in real size? Any comparison at all? I must have seen this before but I just cant remember what exactly this plant is... :)

The Yew tree berries sure do look strange, but there is an interesting beauty to them. I need to get myself out into the countryside and see some of this stuff close up for myself...
